Types of link exchange and difference between them

As I already discussed about link popularity in last post. There was an important part of link popularity is getting link from another websites. There are many ways; we can get inbound links from other websites. Before discussion how we can get link, first we should know the types of links. Some forms of back links (inbound links):

One-way links - are links to your site from other sites which do not require a link from your site. Reciprocal links - are links to your site from other sites which require a link from your site respectively. Triangular links (3-way) - are links to your site from other sites which require a link not from your site but from another one website. And third one site requires a link to your site e.g. suppose there are three website A, B and C.

One-way link --> A gets link from B.
Reciprocal link --> A gets link from and B gets link from A.
3-way link --> A gets link from B and B gets link from C and C gets link from A.

One way link mostly appreciated by Google and other search engines. Reciprocal links have less importance than one-way. Often, triangular links count as spam by search engines, because it is to be done to make fool search engines. It is a spam method that people thought that Google would not notice. Generally webmaster try to show the search engines that these are the one-way links.

To get the one way links, you can submit directories. These may be local directories, general directories, major directories etc. Submit articles with your website link in articles directories. You may post queries in related forums but sometimes it is not counted as a back link to your site. Similarly you can post comments link a website link. To get the reciprocal links and triangular links, send emails with link exchange request to link partners. Let them know about yourself and your industry, what the benefits of link exchange, and which types of links you are request for. But you may be sure that link partners should be related to your industry. Because relevancy supports high traffic, page rank and search results ranking positions.
